Experience

I am a dual-certified math and special education teacher in Buffalo, NY - I currently teach high school math to students with autism and ADHD and specialize in individualized instruction. I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring online and have found that I can be just as effective (or more effective) online as in person. During my nine years of teaching, I have gained experience working in an inclusive classroom and have had great success working with both general education students and students with attention disorders, autism, and learning disabilities. I strongly believe that students have the best chance of success if the material is made accessible to them through multiple entry points and real-world connections, and I have a history of success in finding meaningful connections for a variety of students, from gifted teenagers to students with learning disabilities to adult/non-traditional college students, and everyone in between. I've been told by multiple former students that the aspect of my tutoring that they enjoy the most is my down-to-Earth personality and quirky sense of humor during tutoring sessions. Math is a subject that many students don't particularly enjoy, so I make it a priority to make tutoring sessions lighthearted and fun while still getting work done.
